Bath City Church
Our strategic partnership with Bath City Church started in March 2008. St Johns Parish Church, whose congregation had more than doubled in the previous two years, and Bath City Church, the largest Church in Bath with over 750 worshippers, launched a new ground breaking initiative with one thing in mind – to serve the spiritual needs of the village of Peasedown St John.
The Leader of Bath City Church, Stewart Keiller, excited about the many opportunities that the partnership would bring said;
“Here at Bath City Church one of our key beliefs is about making a spiritual impact in our local communities. The village of Peasedown St John is no exception. Many of our members live in the village and we are very excited about working with St John’s Church and the other Churches in Peasedown in order to develop and support many of the activities they already so successfully undertake such as after-school clubs, breakfast events with speakers, pastoral visiting, lunch clubs and Kidzone.”
The Archdeacon of Bath, Andy Piggott, who encouraged the new venture from the start said;
“This partnership is ground breaking for the Church of England. For an Anglican Parish Church to be working in close alliance with Bath’s biggest independent evangelical Church is going to be a journey full of potential growth and development. In the Church of England we are always looking for new ways to reach out to people, to provide a ‘fresh expression’ of Church, and to meet the needs of the people in the parishes we serve.”
