St Julian's School Chapel Shoscombe

A Short Guide to St Julian's School Chapel, Shoscombe

The Rector of Wellow, The Revd. G. Horton-Starkie built the chapel as an extension to the school hall in 1923.  It was seperated from the hall by a huge roller screen which was lifted manually and stored in the roof space during services.  It collasped suddenly in the 1980's, fortunately on a week day during a school holiday.  It was replaced by a wrought iron screen made locally.  The old choir stalls were also replaced in 2010 by individual chairs many of which were donated by friends of both church and school.  Good use of the chapel is made by the children and staff in term time.

Services are held at St Julian's School Chapel, Shoscombe from the start of November to Easter Day.  From Easter Day to the end of October services are held at St James the Less, Foxcote .
