To Kenya with Love!
A Church in Peasedown St John is sending one of its members to the Nyanza Province, Kenya with resources and equipment to invest in a new Orphanage badly in need of help. The Orphanage was set up in 2004 to feed and look after the homeless and parentless children of Kisumu. Desperate for food and water supplies, a place to sleep and an education the Orphanage now cares for 30 children but the need is still very great. With a lack of desks, chairs, books, and medical equipment more support is needed to make a real difference for the homeless children in the area. Peter Watt, who is a member of Soul Food at “The current lack of beds, kitchen equipment and other essential supplies is something that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. I shall be visiting the Orphanage this Summer with financial assistance from Most of the children have been orphaned due to the huge Aids epidemic in Peter added; “My intention is to buy much of the needed equipment and resources when I am in – that way I can address the situation and see how the Church’s financial assistance can best be spent to make sure these Children have the best possible start in life.” If readers would like to support the project please contact Peter Watt on 01225 835181.
