Pets in church - 9th June '10

Following popular events in the past, Pet Sunday will be returning to a Peasedown Church this week.

Just like in the Vicar of Dibley, residents in the village are being given the chance to bring their animals to church.

St John’s Church will be opening its doors this Sunday to animals of all types. The special services are being planned by Children’s Worker Rob Bubyer, who said:

“For many people our pets are members of the family. They can provide us with comfort in the low times and also be the best friends some people will ever have. This Sunday our special services give us an opportunity to thank God for our animals.

If you would like to bring your pet along to church this Sunday please do.”

St John’s will also be displaying a ‘Pet Wall’ for any residents who can’t bring their animals to church but would still like them acknowledged.

Photographs for the Pet Wall should be sent to Rob by email: robbubyer@me.com or by post: 25 Russet Way, Peasedown St John, BA2 8SS.

The Pet Sunday service will take place in St John’s Church, Peasedown at 4.30pm.

Any animals brought to church need to be under their owners supervision at all times. Dogs will need to be on leads and other animals appropriately caged.
